We are an enthusiastic class of 28 pupils made up with a mix of Year 1 and Year 2 children. Our teacher is Miss Griffiths and Mrs Driscoll and Miss King are our teaching assistants. We believe that learning should be fun and we have lots of opportunities to learn both indoor and outdoors.
Pugh's Garden Centre inspired us to want to plant our own seeds!
Wonder what they will grow to be?
We visited Pugh's Garden Centre to begin our new context for learning. We guessed the smells of different herbs, looked at all kinds of seeds and talked about the life cycle of a bean. We seen lots of different plants and flowers and learned lots of interesting facts. We even got to make messy mud pies!!! Thank you Pugh's for having us!!
We celebrated the Royal Wedding by hosting a garden party with our friends in Celyn. We made cucumber sandwiches, Union Jack biscuits and held egg and spoon races! We had so much fun
Welcome back to the Summer term
This term our context for learning is 'Growing Things'. We would be grateful for any appropriate donations to transform our outdoor area into a 'garden centre'.
*** OUR CLASS ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN MOVED TO WEDNESDAY 25TH OCTOBER ***
We hope to see you there
This term, our contexts for learning are 'Happiness’ and ‘Supermarket’.
In Literacy we will be writing lists, instructions, diary entries and stories. We will also be learning to read and spell key words. Our oracy skills will be developed through talking about context themes in groups.
In Numeracy we will be ordering numbers to 100 and learning bonds to 100. We are learning to tell the time and add money up to £1 giving change. We are practicing our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and identifying properties of shape. We will also apply our skills across the curriculum by sequencing events and sorting objects by more than one criterion.
We will use our individual Active Learn logins to enhance our learning in these areas.
Through our context we will research food from around the world, explore shopping past and present and discuss how to be happy through being healthy.
