National School Categorisation

The National Categorisation System has been introduced to help identify those schools in Wales in need of the most support. Under the new system schools are assessed on both their performance and their ability to improve.

All schools in Wales have be allocated one of four colours with green representing the top performing schools, yellow for good schools, amber for schools in need of improvement and red for schools in need of the most improvement.

Gabalfa  Primary School is pleased to be

categorised as a Yellow B1 school

and is working tirelessly to become a Green A1 school.

A Yellow school is an effective school

which is already doing well

and knows the areas it needs to improve.
