International Mother Language Day

Pupils from Gabalfa Primary and Ysgol Glan Ceubal travelled to the newly erected monument in Grangemoor Park to celebrate International Mother Language Day.  We were so proud of their behaviour and performance of our school song and a Welsh song.

Dosbarth Collen and other volunteers visited Ysgol Glan Ceubal to take part in an International Mother Language Day event organised by our local Councillor Dilwar Ali.  Our fabulous pupils spoke in their Mother Language, sang songs and recited poetry.  To finish it all off we then sang our school song.  it was a lovely event and truly celebrated the wonderful diversity we have in our school.  Thank you to Ysgol Glan Ceubal for being welcoming hosts and for entertaining us with a lovely Welsh song that we think we will learn too!

International Mother Language Day

Dosbarth Llwyfen and Castanwydden went to the Bangladesh Centre in Riverside and the Senedd in Cardiff Bay to perform a song they had written and learnt to celebrate International Mother Language Day.

International Mother Language Day is a Unesco-recognised day which celebrates everyone's right to speak in their Mother language.

The song, entitled 'Peace and Harmony', was written with the help of Mr Kyle Jones from our Music Service and will now become our school song.
