What do we do?

• We promote a Welsh ethos in Gabalfa Primary School by encouraging learners to speak Welsh;
• We communicate our 'Phrase of the Week' to each class;
• We track our progress against targets;
• We teach songs and games in Welsh to others.

Siarter Iaith/ Language Charter

The charter's aim is to promote a strong Welsh ethos in schools and to provide a range of enriching activities that motivate and enthuse children to learn the Welsh language.

Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards

The charter is based on the principle that every school follows challenging but attainable targets to promote the use of the Welsh language.  

Gabalfa Primary School is working to achieve the Bronze Award with its partner SIG schools as soon as possible.

Meet Seren and Sbarc...

Seren and Sbarc are our superheroes who help us to promote the use of the Welsh language in the playground, at home and in the classroom.  Look out for them around the school.
