Keep an eye out for our Young Carers Posters in various places around the School Gabalfa Primary School works closely with the Young Carers Program through Tu Vida.
If you think your child may be a Young Carer, please get in touch with the operational lead practitioner - Mrs Coates and she can tell you more about what is on offer for your children and families.

Young Carers may have a parent/main caregiver or sibling with health conditions. They may be very young and still affected by their home situation.

The impact of this can range from quite subtle to very difficult from day to day.
Children may support the emotions of a person with ill health/disability at home, they might be restricted in how much enrichment they access, they might be late for school or worry about home while in school. They may do small tasks to help out around the house or remind adults to take their meds etc.

At Gabalfa Primary School we are really passionate about supporting our families and raising awareness of projects available so please get in touch with Mrs Coates for further conversations. All information will be treated confidentially.
