Welcome to the Criw Cymraeg's ladder group. Our ladder group's target is to help our classmates and school speak more Welsh! We help our friends to speak Welsh on the yard, in assemblies and in class. Last half term we helped Mr Knight and Mrs Wyn-Williams teach our peers lots of Welsh songs like Calon Lan and Sospan Fach. This half term we will be introducing a phrase of the week for our school to practice and we'll be giving stickers to children (and adults) thatuse it! We will also be helping to teach our peers yard games in Welsh. Finally our most important job is to look after Dewi the Dragon and help him find his way throughout the school.
The Siarter Iaith project is a Welsh language initiative that promotes the use of the Welsh language in innovative and engaging ways for learners. This initiative will be an important part of the New Curriculum for Wales and will also help the Welsh Government attempt to reach one million Welsh speakers by 2050!

My name is Dewi the dragon. I like to spend my time with all the classes here at Gabalfa Primary School. I choose the class that I am going to live in for the week during Welsh assemblies.
