Welcome to Year 2

Your class teacher will be Miss Jones and your child will also meet Mrs O'Connell, Mrs Evans, and Mrs Murphy.

This term our topic is called Big Wide World. It will have a geography link where we will be looking at Wales and other places around the world. We will be comparing Wales with Kenya and learning lots of Interesting facts AND we will be having loads of fun creating African art and music!

We will continue with Big Maths and will often have Learn Its for homework as they are an important way of learning number facts. We are continuing to use Read Write for our phonics and spellings and this term we are also working on our handwriting and presentation. It is very important that you listen to your child read and return their books every week so that they can be changed.

PE days will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, please bring suitable clothing and footwear to school in bags labelled with your child's name. Also please remember no jewellery on these days.
