Croeso I Blwydden 1 - Welcome to Year 1 

We are excited to welcome our new teacher, Miss a. Harding to Dosbarth Helyg.

Our topic for this term is 'Big Wide World' and it has a Geography theme.

We will be looking at where we live in Wales and all its exciting features. We will also be looking at other countries around the world and we're looking forward to comparing Wales with Kenya!  Through this context of work we will be composing different examples of world music and recreating African art.

Every day we will be using 'Big Maths' to learn number facts,  and Read, Write Inc to learn letter names and sounds.

Parents, please remember to listen to your child read and to return their home reading folders every week.

And remember to make sure your child has their PE kit on our PE days, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Please provide PE kit in labelled bags and a reminder that no jewellery is to be worn.
